SoSL Superhero Challenge: Rogue
She’s been one of my favorite characters since I was a little girl watching X-Men cartoons on the weekends. She was everything I wasn’t. Strong, brave, and powerful. The only things we had in common were being sassy and being from the south. So my first take on this challenge had to be her. 🙂 I chose to recreate Rogue as a mix of the Uncanny X-men version and the movie version. I always loved her signature bomber jacket and the suit that went all the way up to her face. I ditched the green and yellow color scheme for a more modern and sexy black suit. She has her signature red and white hair and green eyes. I was suprised how easily I found the things I needed to pull this look together, and you’re gonna love the price tag on that mesh jacket!

The Fantasy Gacha Carnival wraps up on August 21st! They have been adding new items since the gates opened so be sure to make another stop in before it’s over. I did *finally* get my crown as a gift from a good friend. Thanks Missy. I have to say I love Peqe’s Robe dress that’s included in the carnival.
The dress is easy enough to accessorize for whatever look you might be going for. C88 opened and they are celebrating their second birthday (which doesn’t seem possible)! It’s been a little crowded and tough to get into, I finally got a peek last night and there are lots of great items to be had.
As you might have guessed I’ve been trying my hand at roleplaying an elf. It’s been a long time since I roleplayed an elf but I am enjoying the change of pace from other genres that I have recently done. And it has given me a whole new list of shopping to do – which is the most fun part right?

Norrathian memories…
The new Taylor tunic from The Sweet Pea reminded me of my days in EverQuest. I had many adventures in Norrath and many great roleplay stories. It was someone whom I met in Norrath that eventually lead me to Second Life, but that’s a story for another day.
The lovely tunic comes with a pair of matching over-the-knee boots. I paired it with some armor from Innocuous from a past We ❤ RP event. The tunic is very easy to accessorize with just about anything, making it easy to make it unique to your avatar.

The ever elusive crown…
Sweet Lies recently released a gown inspired by everyone’s favorite lady of the Light, Melisandre. It comes in several colors and can be made modest with an undershirt to create a look for the Gorean Free Woman as well.
The Fantasy Gacha Carnival has started and the G-Spot Winter is Coming crown is elusive to me! It’s the one that I wanted from the beginning and I have gotten at least 2 of everyone but none of that one! If you have not taken the time yet, make sure to stop by. The event runs until August 22nd and there are alot of great items there.

SoSL Blogger Challenge: Vampire
I know that I have been terribly neglectful but for good reason. I have had some health issues that have cropped up on me without warning. Hopefully everything will be back to normal soon enough. Roewan came up with the excellent idea to have a blogger challenge to do fantasy avatars. Vampire is an easy enough one for me because when I first came to SL that’s what I jumped into – being a vampire. The first community I ever joined was Transylvania’s Vampire Empire and I spent my time there for a long time.
Over the years the sim has changed and I moved on. I enjoyed seeing the changes there while I took these pictures. My vampire character has been one of my favorite characters I have roleplayed. I enjoy roleplaying vampires in the style that Laurell K. Hamilton writes them. I am toying around with a new shape, what do you think? I haven’t decided if it’s ‘me’ or not yet.

2. Where was the first place you made friends as a newb and got to know people in Second Life? A sim called Beauty, based on the Sleeping Beauty series by Anne Rice. I loved that place and was very very sad when everyone finally went their separate ways. I’ve never found another home like it.
3. Where do you spend most of your SL time now? Either running the grid looking for newness or at my studio.
4. Who is your closest friend in Second Life (only pick one) Ilyushin Tzedek. She’s mah pixellated bestie and we have spent a few years being goofy and having fun together!
5. What is the most favorite thing in your inventory? (only pick one) Only ONE?! Unfair. But if I had to I would have to say my Plastik skin collection. I know technically that’s more than one, but I couldn’t pick between them all.
6. The last thing you purchased in Second Life? The new Tuli Vamp prim teeth!
7. What color clothing does your avatar wear most often? She dresses like my RL self, black is our favorite!
8. Do you prefer to walk, run or fly? I’m a walker. I found the best damn walk years ago and I just love to watch my avie strut her stuff!!
9. What is the craziest thing you’ve ever done in SL? Waaaay back in the day, Ily and I were camping for hair at a store, it was crowded and she was in her sandworm av, she kept sneaking up next to random people and they were actually freaking out. Childish I know, but it was hilarious!!
10. Who would you like to play YOU, in the movie of your SLife? Monica Bellucci, because I love her and I said so dammit!

So a few challenges to talk about here. Some that others have come up with and some that I would like to see… and continue.

#2.) I will be continuing the SoSL Fantasy Blogger Challenge, cuz dammit it was fun.
#3.) I will be STARTING the Blogger Hero Challenge. I want to see your tributes to your favorite superheroes!!! There really isn’t much in the way of rules. I want to see your homages to your favorite superheroes. That can be a direct approach, i.e. Catwoman in a catsuit, or an “inspired by” approach, i.e. inspiration from a certain character! I’m not going to be making time constraints about when these will get done, because that ruins all the spontaneity of the challenge. I’ll do this by making a list of ten at a time. Do them in whatever order you want!! Then, at some point, we’ll make another ten. Here’s the first list:

Game of Thrones wrapped up it’s third season this week and it was undoubtedly my favorite season so far! I love not knowing which of my favorite characters might die next – though I plan to take time out and read the books this summer. June is in full swing and you know that means that all the events have restarted and you can find lots of goodies in FaMESHed, We ❤ Roleplay, and Collabor88. This look is centered around the hair that I found at FaMESHed, I am really in love with it.
Mandala has released more new jewelry and it is gorgeous! Their summer collection is definitely full of must have pieces for roleplayers. I haven’t worn a Belleza skin in sometime but I fell in love with the Ava Best Buy 1 for June. I missed the cleavage tattoo that Belleza includes with their skins. This an option I’d really love to have with Glam Affair, I am not always wearing Lolas and I like being able to have cleavage now and again!
